ABOUT
Dimitris Nalbadis was born in Thessaloniki, Greece, in 1957 and he studied architectural design. His imaginative nature has been recruited to serve various techniques and convey several diverse messages. Since he was thirteen, he was traveling his audience back to the history with his passion for the ancient Greek culture by using multiple techniques and materials with his brush, such as oil, watercolor, chalk, egg tempera, glue and lacquer.
A year after he finished his studies, Dimitris opens officially his first atelier with pieces of art influent mostly from Rembrandt, Rafael, and Veronese. Exited with the art of impressionism, he started with his first exhibition at the age of 21 by using themes of surrealism and neorealism with great success. Until now, Mr. Nalbadis with his personal manager Dimitris Helidonis has participate in more than 80 exhibitions in Greece and Europe, and he still retains the same passion and love for his art.
One of his greatest achievements was in 2000, when Dimitris Nalbadis’s Remembrance was chosen by the United Nations (UN) to be one of its stamps in the Our World 2000 set, the power and truth contained within the picture were revealed to the entire world.
He and five more artists were selected after taking part in the much – discussed “Our World in the Year 2000” exhibition organized by the British company ‘Winsor & Newton’. After the completion of the competition Dimitris had the
honor to create and deliver personally the portrait of the Secretary-General of the UN, Mr. Kofi Annan.
Among his other activities, Dimitris Nalbadis has also made several murals for famous Hotels and manor houses. He is known for the extreme speed of his work even under pressure, as well as for his talent to complete large pieces of work on walls and ceilings with an extremely realistic view of every theme.
